Pak Kik Bio Temple
Pak Kik Bio Temple at Jagalan was completed on the 8th of April 1951 and was inaugurated in 17 July 1952. The temple is build with Tiongkok architecture. This temple used to be the house of Kho Sien Tjing, but the house get burn during the war. Then Kho moved but a few years later he donated the space of his house to Gan Ban Kiem to build a temple. The temple has been preserved and many people go there to pray.
The temple is quite big from the outside. The entrance is filled with Chinese characters and lanterns. The Chinese style roof is decorated with red and yellow. The temple is a place of prayers and blessings.
This temple has different areas. Each area has its own function. The main prayer area is decorated by Chinese Calligraphy, especially on the altar. It also has lanterns and Chinese drawings of legends.
Other areas are mostly decorated with decorative animal, dragon, God and Godess paintings. Some of the windows in the temple have decorative Chinese writing on them.
In the entrance are decorative Chinese fans and calligraphy. Each altar has its own God. There are 3 altars. Two of them are big and one is small. The first big alter is in the main area. The second is at the back of the temple and has two small altars beside it. One of the small alters is interesting. It looks like a small house with a Chinese roof. There are houses on both sides of this temple.
